Sherman (Turk) Shearon left this afternoon for Shumaker, California, after spending 3 days in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shearon. He has been graduated for an electrician’s mate school with the Navy rating of Fireman 2C.

Sherman Shearon, Electrician Mate 2/c, left Monday for the West coast after spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shearon. He has been attending the electrician school at Farragut and completed his training before this last leave.

John Brangwin said that “Turk” Shearon, who went into the Navy the same time he did, is now on an island in the Pacific, but John was instructed not to mention its name right now. John also has two brothers in the Navy.

Sherman Sylvester “Turk” Shearon was born Feb. 21, 1926 to John H. and Vera Dominick Shearon. He died Apr. 14, 2009 and is buried in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, IA.
