Killed In Action
Lieut. Donald J. Schaefer was killed in action April 26 in England, his wife, the former June Sites, 711 Ross Street, was informed by the war department. The couple was married in Sioux City on Valentines’ day, 1944. Lieut. Schaefer, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Schaefer of Chicago, enlisted in the navy air corps in September, 1942 and went overseas in March. He was a pilot on a B-17.
