IN UNIFORM
Cpl. Tony F. Rickwa, national guardsmen who went overseas with the 34th division in January 1942 is serving the crack “red raiders” of the 133d infantry regiment, 34th Red Bull division in Italy by having hot meals ready for the doughboys when they return from a daring night sorties. Cpl. Rickwa cooked for the regimental headquarters company until his recent assignment to the “red raiders.” The spirit of the raiders is unmatched and according to a news dispatch from the Fifth army front much credit falls to the former Sioux City restaurateur whose meals are reported to be “superb” and something worth coming home to,” as one of the raiders put it. Cpl. Rickwa, who wears the combat infantryman badge and the European theater ribbon, has two brothers in the army, Joseph and John. His mother, Mrs. Tillie Rickwa; his wife, Gloria, and daughter, Beverly, reside at 2415 Jay Street.
