Richard Dwight Reibe was born Mar. 5, 1921 to Ben C. and Martha P. Reibe. He died Nov 14, 1943 and is memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines.
Seaman Reibe died while serving his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was serving aboard the USS Atlanta in the Pacific and was reported MIA following the participation of that vessel in the Third Battle of Savo Island. He was later reported KIA and awarded a Purple Heart. He also served aboard the USS Mississippi.
