Private Bill E. Petersen, 5500 Garretson Avenue, has been assigned to the medical replacement training center at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. He will be in training there for 11 weeks.

William E. “Billy” Petersen was born Nov. 22, 1925 to William and Clara M. Hesch Petersen. He died Aug. 5, 1944 and is buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
Pvt. Petersen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 362nd Infantry, 91st Division and was awarded the Purple Heart.
