WAUCOMA - Charles Tomasek went to Davenport Monday to join the army and Duane Perry left Tuesday for Des Moines to be inducted in the air corps, having passed the examinations.

TRAINS IN ALASKA
Lt. Arvel Duane Perry notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Perry of Waucoma, that he arrived in Alaska, where he is attending school. He was in school at Luther college, Decorah, when he volunteered in the air corps in December, 1942. He trained at the State Teachers' college at Oshkosh, Wis., Santa Ana and Santa Rosa, Cal., and was graduated in March this year from Williams Field, Ariz.

Waucoma - Lt. Duane Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Perry, completed his 45-day leave and on Friday went to Moline, Ill., where he left by airplane to report at Santa Ana, Cal. Lieutenant Perry returned in December from the Aleutians where he was stationed for about 18 months.
