Sioux City Soldier Interviews Chinese War Hero at Atlantic City
Atlantic City, N.J. – Special: Interviewing service men was part of Private Wesley Pedersen’s job while a reporter on the Sioux City Journal. Now as a member of the public relations staff at the Atlantic City basic training center, army air force technical training command, he’s doing the same thing for Uncle Sam. He is shown (right) interviewing Private David Lowe of Everett, Washington, 19-year-old veteran of the Chino-Japanese war credited with killing 40 Japanese soldiers in a machine gun ground battle and drowning two enemy aircraft while serving as an aerial gunner in the Chinese army air force. Private Pedersen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Westergaard Pedersen, 2722 Jones Street, Sioux City.
