Ernest Chris Nissen, Jr. was born Aug. 30, 1917 to Ernest Chris (Sr.) and Bertha Ohde Nissen. He died June 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
Sgt. Nissen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 344th Bomber Squadron, 98th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA over the Adriatic Sea and was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
