Ronald Max “Bob” Nichols was born Nov. 11, 1919 to George and Jennie Becham Nichols. He died Aug. 12, 1944 and is buried in Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, IA.
Lt. Nichols served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was KIA in France as the pilot of a Mosquito type fighter plane on a scouting mission, when his plane crashed near Toulouse, France.
