Owen Morrel Newgaard was born Aug. 20, 1925 to Olaf Carl August and Pauline Jerene Ostrem Newgaard. He died Mar. 2, 1945 and is buried in the Roland Cemetery, Roland, IA.
Pvt. Newgaard served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. B, 701st Tank Battalion and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Purple Heart.
