Howard Neff
Graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1936. Howard enlisted in the infantry in April 1941. He was killed in action, Dec. 5, 1943, while serving with the army in Italy.

Press Honor to War Dead
Thirty-one Iowa newspapermen who died while in the armed services during World War II were honored Friday at the 31st annual convention of the Iowa Press association at Hotel Fort Des Moines.

Howard J. Neff was born Mar. 8, 1919 to Frank Leslie and Eva Mae Kettlewell Neff. He died Dec. 5, 1943 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
Pvt. Neff served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry Division, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
