Ralph Lyle Miller was born in 1913 to John Lester and Louella May Howard Miller. He died in 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, IA.
Sgt. Miller served in World War II with the U.S. Army 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
