Lawrence Nelson Merrifield was born Feb. 14, 1914 to Charles Willis and Edith Trimble Merrifield. He died May 26, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Rhone American Cemetery, Draguignan, France.
Cpl. Merrifield served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 718th Bomber Squadron, 449th Bomber Group and was MIA/KIA/FOD in the Ligurian Sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
