Patrick Max McCormick, 71, Webster City died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. John J. Walsh celebrant. A Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, followed by a scripture service. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and prior to Mass. Mr. McCormick will be cremated, and the committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Calvary Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 191.
Patrick Max McCormick, son of James and Madge (Ashmore) McCormick, was born May 11, 1926, at Williams. He attended Webster City schools and graduated from Iowa State in 1947. He served with the U.S. Navy and was trained in the pilot program. Following his discharge, he was employed by International Harvester. On Jan. 24, 1951, he married Gwendolyn Jean Van Fossen at Duncombe. He had farmed in the Webster City area since 1950 and had also worked at the Marvel Sales Barn for several years. He retired in 1994. Mrs. McCormick died in April of 1993.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Holly McCormick, Des Moines, Rick and Judy McCormick, Bill and Dagmar McCormick, and Dan McCormick, all of Webster City, and Jeff and Elizabeth McCormick, Lakeview, Minn.; grandchildren, Lindsay, Madeline, Caylyn and Analee McCormick and J.D. Blue; brother, William McCormick, Webster City; sisters Magel Cleveland, Frankfort, Ky., and Rachel Bowery, Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCormick was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Post 191.
