James Bernard McCollough was born Nov. 4, 1917 and died Sept. 26, 1989. He is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Cpl. McCollough served in the U.S. Army with Co. H, 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry.

James B. McCollough, 71, of Livermore, Calif., a former Webster City resident, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26 at Veterans Hospital in Livermore where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health the past two years.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City with the Rev. Vernon Sorenson officiating. Graveside flag-folding will be conducted by American Legion Post 191.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Foster Funeral Home.
James Bernard McCollough, son of James and Ethel Becker McCollough, was born Nov. 4, 1917 at Fertile, Minn.
He received his education in Webster City. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Alaska.
On April 21, 1947, he married Marjorie Jean Baker in California. The couple resided in California, Des Moines and Webster City. He was a trucker and employed by various firms and also Morton’s Frozen Foods.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1962.
On July 28, 1963, he married Dorothy Spitler in Arkansas. The couple resided in Webster City and moved to Eagle Grove in 1968 where they operated the Sandman Motel. The couple moved to Livermore in 1969 where he owned and drove a truck. He retired in 1982.
Survivors include his second wife; four daughters, Judy (Mrs. Russell) Woods of Henderson, Nev., Diana (Mrs. Tom) Hill of rural Webster City, Marsha (Mrs. Luke) Bryant of Dublin, Calif., and Cindy (Mrs. Richard) Callaghan of Hanford, Calif.; one son, James McCollough of Stanhope; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Margaret Lemon of Des Moines, Helen Norris of Des Moines, Bettie (Mrs. Guy) Lee of Mankato, Minn., and Philis (Mrs. Charles) Fletchall of Webster City; two brothers, Robert McCollough of Tustin, Calif., and Jack McCollough of San Jose, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents and an infant brother.
He was a former member of American Legion Post 191.
