Carleton L. Marks was born Mar. 8, 1922 to Harry Carleton and Bessie Mamie Blackman Marks. He died Mar. 11, 1944 and is buried in Eldora Cemetery, Eldora, IA.
Lt. Marks served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died as the result of an airplane crash when the plane in which he was the co-pilot went into a steep spiral dive from which it never recovered and in crashed into the Indian River in Martin Co., FL.
