First Sergeant Carl Malmstrom, and family of Camp Claiborne, La., came to spend the New Year’s holiday with Mrs. Malstrom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Rathbun, who are caretakers at the armory, 823 Pearl Street. Upon receiving a telegram to report back at camp immediately, Sergeant Malstrom and family left Friday.

Mrs. Carl Malmstrom, 823 Pearl Street, has been informed that her husband has been promoted from first sergeant to first lieutenant at Boston, Mass., and has departed for parts unknown. Lieut. Malmstrom was station at Camp Claibourne until February. He was a member of the National Guard here for 17 years.
