Edwin Roy Maillie was born Dec. 19, 1923 to Andrew John and Wilhelmina Charlotta Pauline “Minnie” Roepke Maillie. He died May 22, 1944 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, IA.
Sgt. Maillie served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 20th Combat Mapping Squadron in World War II and was KIA near Dengargue, New Guinea. He was an engineer member of a B-24 bomber crew.
