D.H. MacGowan Killed In Crash
Sioux City Lieutenant Victim of Airplane Accident
Lieut. David H. MacGowan, 25, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. John Brodie, 4436 Military Road, was killed in a army plane crash 50 miles from Pocatello, Idaho. He was the pilot of a B-24 on a routine flight.
Mr. Brodie went to Pocatello. According to a telegram from the government the body will be sent to Perasso Bros. Funeral Chapel here.
Lieut. MacGowan had served at the Sioux City air base and Orlando Field, Florida. He left here in June for Pocatello.
He was married to Luella Brodie of Sioux City June 30, at Boise, Idaho. He was graduated from the University of Virginia. Mrs. MacGowan, who has been at Pocatello, was graduated from Central High School here and was a student at Drake University, Des Moines.
Survivors include the widow, Luella; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude H. MacGowan, New York City, and a sister, Ursula, New York.
