Joe John Luppes was born Mar. 31, 1914 to Harm H. and Tina Lammers Luppes. He died Apr. 27, 1982 and is buried in the Liberty Center Cemetery, Blairsburg, IA.
Joe served with the U.S. Army in World War II in the Rainbow Division.

Funeral services for Joe Luppes, 68, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Don Basye officiating. Burial is to be at the Liberty Center Cemetery south of Blairsburg.
Mr. Luppes died Tuesday morning at his home in Webster City after having been in ill health for the past 10 years.
Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Saturday at which time the casket will be taken to the church.
Joe John Luppes, the son of Harm and Tina Lammers Luppes, was born March 31, 1914, south of Blairsburg in Hamilton County. He attended rural schools and also Webster City schools and was married to Wilma Huse Dec. 31, 1943, at Waterloo.
They lived in Webster City until 1949 when they moved to Eagle Grove. In 1953 they returned to Webster City and in 1957 they moved to Garden Grove, Calif. They returned to Webster City in 1969 and had lived here since that time. Mr. Luppes, who was involved mainly in the trucking business, retired in 1972 due to ill health.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two children, Anita Zolnosky of St. Cloud, Minn., an CWO4 Merlyn Beightol of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Harmka “Bonnie” Luppes of Webster City, and one brother, Harry Luppes of Webster City.
He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
Mr. Luppes was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II.
