Arthur ‘Junior’ Larson, Jr. was born Jan. 5, 1924 to Arthur (Sr.) and Florence Dielman Larson. He died Dec. 29, 1998 and is buried in the Dows Cemetery, Dows, IA.
Arthur served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the Field Artillery under Gen. Patton in the European Theater of Action.

Arthur Larson, 74 of Webster City, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 a Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City with Revs. John Grebner and Doug Bullock-Tiffany officiating. Burial was in the Dows Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Dows American Legion Post.
Arthur Larson, son of Arthur and Florence Dielman Larson, was born January 5, 1924 at Dows. He was educated at Dows. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Field Artillery under General Patton in the European Theater of Action. On August 3, 1946, he married Berneda Skrovig at Dows. The couple resided in Dows where he was employed at the Dows Creamery. In 1950, they moved to Webster City, where he worked at the Fareway Store. For 26 years, he was a route salesman for Carnation. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he worked for Nissen’s in the maintenance department.
Survivors are his wife, Brenda, daughters, Beth Larson of Manhattan Beach, MN, Susan Larson of Altoona son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Diane Larson of Urbandale, granddaughters Chelsey and Rachelle Larson, Robert Larson of Dows, brother, Robert Larson of Dows, and sister, LaVonne Greene of Manhattan, KS, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donnan, Charles and Max Larson, and sister Viola Rahn.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #191, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #650, and enjoyed sports. While in high school at Dows, he lettered 10 times in baseball, basketball and football.
