Douglas J. Kochen, torpedoman third class, who has been on a destroyer in the South Pacific for the last year, is home on a 30-day leave visiting his mother, Mrs. Louise Kochen, 1400 Douglas Street. At the end of his leave, he will go to San Diego, California to attend advanced torpedoman’s school. A graduate of Central High School, he also attended Trinity High School. He entered the service January 4, 1943. He spent six months in the Atlantic before his last Pacific assignment.
