Morris Alvin Kirkland was born Sept. 13, 1911 to John and Mary Keller Kirkland. He died Nov. 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the tablets of the Missing, Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg and has a cenotaph in Oak Grove Cemetery, Missouri Valley, IA.
Sgt. Kirkland served in World War II with the U.S. Army 377th Infantry Regiment, 95th Infantry Division and was MIA/KIA and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
