Lloyd Wesley Kersten was born July 23, 1921 to Edward F. and Martha Marie Schuelzky Kersten. He died Nov. 30, 1944 and is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, IA.
Lt. Kersten served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 8th Air Force and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
