Jess Dewey Joyce, Jr. was born June 14, 1923 to Jess Dewey (Sr.) and Caroline Schmickle Joyce. He died Aug. 15, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Sgt. Joyce served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 427th Bomber Squadron, 303rd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/FOD/KIA in Germany and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
