Allen LeRoy Hermann was born Oct. 20, 1922 to George Marlin and Blanche Ula Stevens Hermann. He died Apr. 30, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Sheldahl Cemetery, Sheldahl, IA. His remains were later recovered.
Lt. Hermann served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/KIA over New Guinea and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart.
