Pete W. House, 55, a longtime Webster City resident, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon, being pronounced dead on arrival at the Hamilton County hospital, death being attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Alva Hohl officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery where military flag-folding services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 191.
Peter Wilbur House son of Jerry T. and Rose Merritt House, was born April 4, 1923 at Jewell. He attended the Jewell area schools, moving with his family to Webster City where he attended school.
In 1944, he entered service with the U.S. Army and served until November, 1946, when he was discharged.
He was united in marriage Jan. 10, 1953 to Delores LeMay Poore, and the couple had made their home in this city since. He had been employed for many years by M and M Customs and also the Cashway Lumber Store.
He was preceded in death by his wife March 30, 1971.
He was married Oct. 13, 1973 to Barbara Ann Clouser Bauge, and the family had since resided here.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Gene Alan House, Webster City, Jerry Lee House, Rock Valley, Iowa, Robert Dean House, Nebraska, and Richard House, Webster City; two daughters, Miss Diana House, Eagle Grove, and Miss Nancy House, Clarion; five step-sons and five step-daughters, Joe Poore, Austin, Texas, James Poore, Tennessee, Donald Poore, Omaha, David Poore, Arkansas, Doris Bauge, Deborah, Thomas, Darla, Diana and Dean Bauge, all at home; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Maynard (Ellen) Caquelin, Woolstock, Mrs. Merle (Avonne) Hoops, Webster City, and Mrs. Ione Gramblin, Woolstock, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, who died in infancy, and by his parents
