Clarence Raymond ‘Chuck’ Hinderks was born July 28, 1917 to Henry A. and Lulu Pearl Kennedy Hinderks. He died Dec. 7, 1974 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Clarence served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Colorado (BB-45).

C.R. (Chuck) Hinderks, 57, longtime Kamrar resident, died Saturday at the University Hospitals in Iowa City where he had been a patient for three weeks.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Marvin L. Camp officiating and with burial in the Graceland cemetery.
A flag-folding ceremony will be held at the graveside by the American Legion post 191.
Clarence Raymond Hinderks, son of Henry A. and Lulu Pearl Kennedy Hinderks, was born July 28, 1917 at Kamrar. He was reared and educated there, graduating in 1934.
He served with the U.S. Navy from April 6, 1937 to April 4, 1941, serving aboard the U.S.S. Colorado. He later was active in the U.S. Naval Reserve. During World War II, he was employed with Douglas Aircraft in California.
He was married Aug. 2, 1941 to Elsie Nelson, and the couple later returned to Kamrar.
He had been currently employed by the United States Department of Agriculture at the National Animal Disease Lab at Ames.
He had served as town clerk at Kamrar since 1947.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter and three sons: Marlyce Kling of Osage, Ronald of Mishawaka, Ind., Lonney or Arlington, Iowa, and Richard, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Merle Smith of Terre Haute, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
He was a member of the United Methodist church at Kamrar.
