Glen Raymond Hilpipre was born Aug. 15, 1925 to August and Fanny Emmenderfer Hilpipre. He died Jan. 11, 1987 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Pvt. Hilpipre served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Glen Hilpipre, 61, of Webster City died early Sunday, Jan. 11 at his home. He had been in failing health the past year.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Wednesday, Jan. 14 with Rev. Richard Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Graveside flag folding will be conducted by the American Legion post 191. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today until 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Glen Raymond Hilpipre, son of August and Fanny Emmenderfer Hilpipre, was born Aug. 15, 1925 at Blairsburg. He was educated in the rural schools near Blairsburg and Woolstock.

For two years, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.

On Jan. 17, 1950, he married Patricia A. Wells at Webster City. The couple farmed in the Woolstock are until 195_ when they moved to Webster City. He was employed by Franklin Manufacturing, Maudlin Construction, E and E Construction. He also had done some custom farming in the Webster City area. For the past two years, he had been semi-retired.

Survivors are his wife; five sons, Michael, Danny, Randy and Jeffrey all of Webster City, Rodney of Altoona; seven grandchildren; three brothers, five sisters, Edmond of Woolstock, Hortense (Mrs. Marvin) Mortenson of Story City, Erma Stuhmer, Dorothy (Mrs. Thurman) Lappin, Irene (Mrs. Raymond) Barkema, Clarence, Marcel, Elsie (Mrs. George) Story, all of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers in infancy.

He was a member of the French church east of Woolstock and American Legion Post 191.
