Sioux City Soldier Works Out New Use For Litter Jeeps
Private Frank L. Heeren, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Herren, 1015 Jennings Street, and stationed with an army medical unit in Great Britain, has worked out plans for combat action including the use of litter bearing jeeps, a spokesman for the family said.
It is reported that the jeeps are rigged so that they can carry four litters leaving sufficient room for the driver and his helper.
Private Heeren has been in the army for two years and overseas about a year. His wife, the former Patricia Searing, formerly of Morningside, and their infant daughter, Valerie Jean, now reside in Oakland, California.

PVT. Frank Heeren, who has served 36 months overseas in Holland, France, Belgium and Germany with the medical department, is spending a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Heeren, 1015 Jennings Street. He will report to Jefferson Barracks, Mo., for further assignments.
