John P. Heckman was born Dec. 9, 1906 to Chris and Anna Katharine Schwarting Heckman. He died May 15, 1944 and is buried in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.
Cpl. Heckman served with the U.S. Army AAA AW Battalion in World War II and died in Italy in the service of his country.
