Elmer and May Sophia Beebe Heck had three sons serving in World War II: Ralph Leroy, John Donald, and Earl L. Heck.

John Donald Heck was born Dec. 22, 1915. He died May 29, 1989 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Pvt. Heck served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

John D. Heck, 73, Webster City, died Monday afternoon, May 29, at the Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City, where he had been a patient for two days. Private family graveside services will be held Thursday, June 1, at 1;:30 p.m., in Graceland Cemetery, Robert Scott and Richard Laird officiating. Flag folding services will be conducted by American Legion Post 91 of Webster City. Private family visitation is being held at the Foster Funeral Home, Webster City

John Donald Heck, son of Elmer and Mae Beebe Heck, was born Dec. 22, 1915, in Homer. He was a 1933 graduate of Webster City High School. He married Della Doss on July 4, 1941, in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City where Mr. Heck was employed as a paint contractor. He retired in 1976. He served nearly four years in the United States Air Force with the 302nd Airdrome Squadron in the European theater.

He is survived by his wife Della, Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and George Greenwood, Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandsons, John and James; three brothers and two sisters, Carl Heck, Dodge City, Minn.; Earl Heck, Fort Dodge; Elmer Heck, Webster City; Verla Ferguson, Princeton, Mo.; and Leila Eggers, North Hollywood, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Heck was a member of the Church of Christ, Webster City.
