Donald Francis Godfrey was born Apr. 2, 1922 to Joseph and Marian Daugherty Godfrey. He died Oct. 6, 1943 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Petty Officer Godfrey served in World War II with the U.S. Navy, became a POW and lost his life in a Japanese Prison in Thailand.
