Walter Wilson Gliem was born Feb. 9, 1913 to Joseph S. and Mary L. Welch Gliem. He died Feb. 15, 1943 and is buried in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, IA.
Pvt. Gliem served with the U.S. Army in World War II and died at Station Hospital, Palm Springs, CA while in the service of his country.
