26 FROM IOWA LOST IN ACTION
WASHINGTON, D. C. (AP)—The War Department Saturday listed 26 Iowa soldiers as missing in action in the European and Mediterranean theaters. They were:

John Jerome Gannon was born July 13, 1910 to John J. and Mary E. McNeill Gannon. He died June 27, 1944, and is buried in Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
Pvt. Gannon served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and was MIA/KIA in northern Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
