Robert Fern Commissioned Bombardier
Robert C. Fern, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Fern, 281 Logan avenue, was graduated May 8 from the army bombardier school at Deming, N.M., and was commissioned a second lieutenant. He is now taking a navigation course at Carlsbad, N.M. Lieutenant Fern attended Iowa State Teachers college for three years, and was employed as an accountant in the ordnance plant in Burlington, Ia., at the time of his enlistment last August.
