John Ole Evans was born Sept. 9, 1920 to Ole and Allie Julia Holland Evans. He died June 29, 2012 and it buried in Otis Grove Cemetery, Dows, IA.
Lt. Evans served with the U.S. Navy in World War II as a pilot and flight instructor.

John O. Evans, 91, of Williams, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at his home. Funeral services for John O. Evans will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 2nd also at the Linn's Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Otis Grove Cemetery, Dows, Iowa, with military honors provided by the U. S. Navy and the Dows American Legion Post. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o his wife: Alice Evans, 3274 330TH Street, Williams, Iowa 50271. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

John Ole Evans was born September 9, 1920, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Ole and Allie Julia [Holland] Evans. He attended the Iowa Falls Community Schools graduating with the class of 1938. He served with the United States Navy as a pilot and flight instructor during World War II and retired as a Lt JG from the U. S. Naval Reserves. He married Ruth Klousia in 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas and they later divorced. In 1971 he was united in marriage to Dolores Wellman at Kirksville, Missouri. After her death in 1995 he was united in marriage to Alice Zander and had been living happily ever after.
John farmed for many years until after his divorce and then became an over the road truck driver hauling meat to the eastern cities for 23 years; first for Ellsworth Freight Lines and then Greenfield Truck Lines when Ellsworth sold out to them. John was a member of the Dows United Methodist church where he served as a Lay Leader, Trustee, Chairman of the Church Board, Steward Chairman, and Building Committee; and also taught Sunday School for 10 years. He did a lot of volunteer work for several cemeteries, including: Buckeye Cemetery, Norwegian Tipton Cemetery, Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Hope Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery, Alden Cemetery, Union Cemetery, Buckeye Cemetery, and Maynes Grove Cemetery.
John Ole Evans is survived by his wife: Alice Evans of Williams, Iowa; two daughters: Patricia Packard of Hampton, Iowa, Ruthie [Bill] Sheehan of Altoona, Iowa; five grandchildren: Jeanette Enos of Des Moines, Iowa, Evelyn Schroeder [Devon] of Charles City, Iowa, Martha Packard of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brett Sheehan of Altoona, Iowa, Erin Sheehan of Eugene, Oregon; and one sister: Ruth Langeson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ole and Allie Evans; his second wife: Dolores Evans; his brother in World War II: Richard Evans; and two sisters: Helen Efkamp and Eleanor Schultz: and an infant grandson Raymond Packard
