Lawrence Burdett Emery was born Jan. 26, 1912 to Avery Homer and Ostie Emery. He died Oct. 20, 1944 and is buried in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton, IA.
Sgt. Emery served in World War II with the U.S. Army 383rd Infantry 96th Infantry Division and was KIA on Leyte while serving his country.
