Harold R. Dawson was born Oct. 1, 1921 to Clyde R. and Alma Elvina Dawson. He died Mar. 8, 1946 and is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Saint Louis, MO.
Sgt. Dawson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 308th Bomb Group, 374th Bomb Squadron and was MIA/KIA/FOD while a crew member on a B-24 Liberator bomber which departed from Changkung, China on a mine laying mission of the Yangtze River near Hankew in Central China. No radio contact was made with the aircraft after the take-off.
