Alan L. Dale, file clerk, son of Mrs. Hilda Dale, 2415 S. Lakeport Street, was awarded the certificate of merit while serving with the army as typist in combat in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, distinguishing himself by meritorious service from September 10, 1944 to May 8, 1945. He has served in Iceland, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and wears three bronze service stars for battle participation.
