Maurice Charles Curray was born Nov. 27, 1920 to Charles B. and Fay Royalty Curray. He died Aug. 9, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Curray served in World War iI with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Vincennes (CA-44) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was sunk in the Battle of Savo Island. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
