James W. Cline was born May 29, 1924 to John Albert “Bert” and Katherine Garvey Cline. He died May 8, 1944 and is buried in Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, IA. He is memorialized at Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Liege, Belgium.
Pvt. Cline served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 339th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group. He was MIA/KIA over Hanover, Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
