James William Clark was born Apr. 13, 1918 to Ernest M. and Frances J. Walsmith Clark. He died Apr. 28, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy and has a cenotaph in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Lt. Clark served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 720th Bomber Squadron, 450th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/FOD/KIA in the Tyrrhenian Sea while serving his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
