Harold J. Carter was born about 1908 to John and Iowa Carter. He died Oct. 17, 1943 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
Pvt. Carter served in World War II with the U.S. Army 41st Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
