Promoted to Staff Sergeant
CLEAR LAKE -- Rayman Callanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Callanan, 830 South Third street, has recently been transferred from Camp Roberts, Cal., to Camp Claiborne, La. and at the same time was promoted from the rank of corporal to staff sergeant. Sergeant Callanan is with the petroleum distributing unit at Camp Claiborne, according to a letter received by his parents Monday. He has been in Louisiana about three weeks. (Russell photo)
