Sheldon, Iowa—Private Wallace F. Bunker of Sheldon, killed in action in North Africa on February 19, this year, has been awarded the Purple Heart posthumously for bravery in action under fire and for wounds he received. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bunker of Sheldon, received a certificate from the war department this week. Private Bunker was a graduate of the Sheldon high school, where he was a star athlete in football and basketball.

IOWA HONOR ROLL
These Iowans, like the many carried here in previous Honor Roll listings, have given their lives for their country. Each one was either killed in actual combat or died in prison camp. The fourth line beneath each photograph indicates the war area in which the Iowan was serving. Additional pictures will be carried on future Sundays.

Wallace Leroy Bunker was born Jan. 14, 1923 to Albert B. and Cora Johnson Bunker. He died Feb. 20, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.
Pvt. Bunker served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA in North Africa. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart.
