Cecil L. Brown was born June 22, 1917 to Charles D. and Mary E. Peebles Brown. He died Jan. 24, 1945 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. He has a cenotaph in Griswold Cemetery, Griswold, IA.
Pvt. Brown served in World War II with the U.S. Army 23rd Infantry, 2nd Division and was KIA in Belgium and awarded the Purple Heart.
