SOLDIER NEWS.

Three Plymouth County boys were enlisted in the Navy Thursday at Des Moines.  They are Alfred L. Rounds, RFD 6, LeMars; Lloyd A. Chamberlain, 120 Fourth Ave. SE, LeMars; and Robert B. Brodie, Route 1, Akron. All three enlisted through the Navy recruiting station in Sioux City. Brodie, who had earlier passed the Navy’s Eddy test, was sworn in as a seaman, first class, for radio technician training.

NEWS of the Boys in the Service 

Bruce Brodie, who is taking Naval training at Great Lakes Station, near Chicago, came Saturday to spend a leave in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. B. Brodie, west of LeMars.

Bruce Brodie, S1/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brodie, who was attending pre-radio school in Chicago, has been transferred to radio school at Gulfport, Mississippi.

Robert Bruce “Bruce” Brodie was born Dec. 19, 1926 to Robert B. and Myrna Odessa Richey Brodie. He died Aug. 22, 1993 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
