Henry William Boedeker was born Nov. 20, 1911 to Carl F. and Caroline Stolte Boedeker. He died Feb. 27, 1945 and is buried in Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard, IA.
Pvt. Boedeker served with the U.S. Army 129th Infantry, 37th Division in World War II. He was KIA while aiding in the liberation of the last pocket of resistance in Manila and was awarded the Good Conduct medal, Combat Infantryman’s badge, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
