Robert Harry Beem was born Apr. 25, 1917 to John Harold and Gladys Marie Bissell Beem. He died Feb. 10, 1993 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Pvt. Beem served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II.

Robert H. Beem, 65, Webster City, died suddenly last evening of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral home with Don Basye officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Robert Harry Beem, son of John and Gladys Bissell Beem, was born April 25, 1917, at Webster City and was reared and educated here.
He was married July 1, 1936, to Mary Kennedy. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II.
The couple had since resided in the Webster City and Blairsburg communities. He had been employed by the Clear View Dairy Farm and also by the Central Iowa Stockyards until his retirement in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his wife in September, 1979, but continued to reside at 1042 Park Avenue.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Allie and Beverly Rickabaugh, both of Webster City, Robert G. Beem and Roger Beem, both of Duncombe; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Scarborough of Waterloo; a half-brother, Richard Odor, and a half-sister, Laura Dell Lee, both of this city.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
